Knicks Receive: Alex Caruso, Jared Dudley

In order to get this trade done, the Lakers would not have to give up much value. Sure, Alex Caruso is a fan favorite, but he isn’t a huge part of what the team does. Being able to acquire a guard with the athleticism and potential that Smith has would be intriguing.

Smith still has plenty of time to get things turned around. He is just 23 years old. Playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis could help him reach his full potential.

There is a chance that the Knicks could end up keeping Smith and seeing how he does with a new coaching staff. However, it is likely that he would welcome a trade. His tenure in New York simply has not gone well.
