This Heat-Trail Blazers blockbuster trade forms a Butler, Lillard duo

The Hypothetical Trade

Heat Receive: Damian Lillard, Nassir Little

Trail Blazers Receive: Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn, Andre Iguodala, Kelly Olynyk, 2022 1st Round Pick, 2024 1st Round Pick, 2025 1st Round Pick Swap, 2026 1st Round Pick

Now that is the definition of a “blockbuster” trade in the NBA. A superstar name like Lillard switching teams for a ton of young talent and draft capital would be a fun trade to break down.

Fans in Portland would hate to see Lillard shipped out of town. However, if the Trail Blazers do make a move, they will want to send him to the Eastern Conference. They will also want to get a ton of young talent and draft picks back in return.

In this deal, they get both of those things. Being able to bring in three first-round picks and a pick swap would give Portland a ton of flexibility. For the Heat, they would be going all-in to win another championship around Lillard and Jimmy Butler.

Let’s take a closer look at this trade for both the Heat and Trail Blazers and why it would make sense for both teams to pull the trigger on this deal.
