Damian Lillard has been mentioned in some trade rumors over the last few years, but to this point in time the Portland Trail Blazers have decided not to pull the trigger on any deal. It has been clear that Lillard is committed to bringing a championship to Portland. However, if the Trail Blazers do look to make a move, could the Miami Heat make an intriguing trade offer to pair Lillard with Jimmy Butler?
Granted, this is a long shot trade idea. It would take a lot for the Trail Blazers to move Lillard. But, it is still worth taking a look at what the Heat could offer should that option become available.
Last season with the Trail Blazers, Lillard put together another massive year. He averaged 30.0 points per game to go along with 8.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds. Lillard shot 46.3 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 40.1 percent of his three-point attempts.
Over the last few years, the Trial Blazers have come close to making an NBA Finals appearance. They have come up a bit short. If that doesn’t change, or if Portland simply thinks shaking things up could help, they could move either Lillard or CJ McCollum.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at one intriguing blockbuster trade that would send Damian Lillard from the Trail Blazers to the Heat.
