The Milwaukee Bucks made it clear at the beginning of the offseason that they were interested in improving their point guard position to help keep Giannis Antetokounmpo happy. That was one of the first moves they made and could continue to add depth as we creep closer to the regular season. Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Rose could be a name to keep an eye on as a trade target.
Milwaukee acquired Jrue Holiday from the New Orleans Pelicans in a trade to give them an All-Star caliber point guard. Holiday will team up with Antetokounmpo in hopes of leading the Bucks to a run come postseason time. That is something that has been difficult for Milwaukee to accomplish in recent years.
With Holiday at the point, Milwaukee could look to add another veteran option to come off the bench.
That is where the Pistons come into play. Detroit has been one of the busiest teams in free agency, making many moves to improve their front-court, including adding Jerami Grant. Detroit is a team looking to get younger and that means deals involving Blake Griffin and Rose could be on the horizon.
The Pistons used the seventh overall pick in the draft on Killian Hayes, who will be the starting point guard entering preseason. That means Rose could be on the move if the Pistons get the right deal.
Detroit and Milwaukee could be trade partners in a deal surrounding the former MVP. Here is what a potential trade might look like that would send Derrick Rose from the Pistons to the Bucks.
