The situation with the Houston Rockets has been resolved slightly. The main NBA storyline as of late featured the Rockets sending Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards in exchange for John Wall. Now, they could look to move James Harden if they get the right return for him. Could the Philadelphia 76ers move an All-Star to get a deal done?
The Rockets paired Wall with Harden, which apparently Harden would have preferred over the initial pairing with Westbrook. Harden has been one of the biggest names on the trading block this NBA offseason.
Harden has been linked to many teams but has a preferred destination being the Brooklyn Nets. This trade would send him to a contender in the Eastern Conference but not the Nets. Instead, it would be the Philadephia 76ers in this scenario.
Earlier in the NBA offseason, the 76ers hired Doc Rivers as the new head coach and now have Daryl Morey in the front office making basketball decisions. They have said that they are not interested in trading Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid. This could change in the blink of an eye if acquiring Harden is in fact possible.
This would be another blockbuster trade that would shake up the league immediately. If the Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers were to pursue a deal, this one might get the job done.
