Oklahoma City Thunder

Thunder GM Sam Presti has not only been one of the most active GMs this offseason, but has been brilliant. Since trading away Russell Westbrook last year, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been gathering first-round picks and are up to something big. This offseason, after making the playoffs, the Thunder traded away Dennis Schroder, Chris Paul, Steven Adams and decided to move on from Danilo Gallinari as they worked out a sign-and-trade with Atlanta.

Now, the Oklahoma City Thunder have 18 first-round picks over the course of the next 7 NBA Drafts and are in a position to make a big move via trade. Who knows what the Thunder are planning on doing but they could easily work out a massive trade with all of their draft assets, or work out a sign-and-trade with a big name player next offseason.

Over the years, the Thunder have seen the likes of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden and Serge Ibaka all leave and find success with other organizations, and while these departures have definitely hurt the Thunder, Sam Presti and the Oklahoma City front office have slowly been setting themselves for success in the future.

By acquiring young players with a lot of upside such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort, as well as the abundance of first-round picks they now own the rights to, the Oklahoma City Thunder may see a couple of losing seasons over the years, but have the best chance to be the best young team in the league due to their draft assets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder definitely will not hold onto all 18 first-round draft picks they own the rights to and as a result, are in the best position to trade for virtually anybody they want to acquire in the NBA.
