Boston Celtics

Over the last four seasons, the Boston Celtics have made the Eastern Conference Finals three times and are on the verge of making the NBA Finals, but seem to be missing something. Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward were not the answers for the Celtics and Kemba Walker could not get them into the NBA Finals last year, so where do the Celtics go from here?

Well, the Celtics have 6 draft picks over the next two drafts and they have Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown, two players who have drawn a lot of trade interest from numerous teams around the league. While the Celtics would likely turn down any offer for Jaylen Brown, the same may not be the same for Smart.

Marcus Smart’s value is at an all-time high after averaging a career high 12.9 points last season and he is one of the best perimeter defenders in the entire league. While Smart is one of the key contributors to this Celtics team, he could wind up being the odd man out for Boston if they fail to make the NBA Finals again.

Celtics GM Danny Ainge has always been known to be aggressive in terms of putting together the best team possible, which is why they could be a team that looks to add an All-Star level talent sooner than later. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are two young and extremely talented players with All-Star potential and with another big name player next to them, the Celtics could set themselves up to contend for numerous NBA titles over the next few years.

Myles Turner, Nikola Vucevic, Victor Oladipo and Buddy Hield are all big names that have been brought up in Celtics’ trade rumors and could make an immediate impact for this franchise if they are traded there. The Celtics are doing everything they can to win a championship, which is why they are positioning themselves to make a big trade in the near future.
