Why the Trade Would Benefits the Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers were able to compete in the postseason down in Orlando, but they were eliminated in the first round by the Miami Heat. As of now, they do not have a player with much postseason experience to leave the way during the most important time of the season. This is just one aspect that Kevin Love would bring to the table.
The Pacers play a half-court style on the offense of end and can win games with defense. This fits into what Love likes to do. He is not a forward who runs the floor well but he can spot up and knock down to three on the perimeter.
There are a variety of different lineup combinations the Pacers can use with Love in the mix. Simply lining up Love and Sabonis would be the clear option, but so would staggering their minutes to play at the center position. This would enable TJ Warren to play both forward positions throughout games.
Sabonis was an All-Star this season. With Love on the other side, they would be difficult to guard in their half-court set. This gives the offense a ton of options when they cross the half-court line. This would be a team that could attempt to wear down their opposition on a nightly basis.
