Russell Westbrook has been one of the most talked about names in the NBA rumor mill this offseason. After it was reported that he requested to leave the Houston Rockets, the rumors began swirling out of control. One rumor connected Westbrook to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic in an appearance on The Load Management Podcast, the Rockets and Cavaliers have discussed a trade that would send Westbrook to Cleveland.

This would be a very intriguing potential trade for both teams. Westbrook was not a great fit with the Rockets last season, although his numbers looked great. James Harden has also requested a trade out of town.

If the Rockets are looking to move both superstars, they should be able to get a decent amount of value out of them. With the Cavaliers in a trade for Westbrook, the return wouldn’t be as high as the trade involving Harden. However, they could target some of the intriguing young pieces that the Cavs have put together.

Last season with the Rockets, Westbrook ended up averaging 27.2 points per game to go along with 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists. He only shot 25.8 percent from three-point range, which was the second-lowest mark of his career.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at a potential trade that would send Russell Westbrook from the Rockets to the Cavaliers.
