Why the Trade Benefits the Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers can put anybody around LeBron James and Anthony Davis and compete for a title. They made it clear that they want to improve the point guard position and did so right away with Dennis Schroder. This is a deal to add depth to the position.
In his first season, Coby White averaged 13.2 points per game. He was one of the better players in Chicago over the course of the season. While he shot just 39.2% from the field, that will surely increase as he continues to develop in the NBA.
With Schroder in the backcourt, White could serve as a bench player who can provide a spark off the bench. While Kyle Kuzma filled a similar role, the particular guard skill-set of White could be a better fit. This is a move to end depth to a team that will look to win another championship.
The Lakers will be one of the top teams in the Western Conference as long as LeBron James is on the roster. White would have a chance to learn from one of the best ever play the game.
