Why the Trade Benefits the San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs are coming off a season where they did not make the postseason for the first time in 22 years. This makes them in line for a rebuild around players like Dejounte Murray. DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge could be on the move this offseason.
If DeRozan doesn’t want to stay long-term in San Antonio, it is time to make this trade. The Spurs are headed in a different direction than what they are accustomed to as an organization, so older veteran players do not serve much of a purpose.
