This Bulls-Warriors trade pairs Zach LaVine with Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors face an uphill battle when it comes to contending for an NBA championship after Klay Thompson’s season-ending injury. Making a move to get Stephen Curry more help could be crucial and the Chicago Bulls may have a helpful talent in Zach LaVine to pursue.

There was an effort by the Warriors to reinforce its supporting cast by putting a $17.2M trade exception to use in order to acquire Kelly Oubre Jr. via trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder. They also used the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft to select James Wiseman.

That simply isn’t going to be enough for Golden State and with the Bulls still rebuilding, a trade for LaVine could be of mutual benefit. Chicago appears interested in reconfiguring its backcourt long-term and could capitalize on the Warriors’ urgency to add a key contributor.

Last season featured career-best statistical output from LaVine— producing averages of 25.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.5 steals for the Bulls. He also upped his average for three-point attempts per game to 8.1 and converted at a 38.0% clip.

With that being said, let’s take a look at a trade idea that would send Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls to the Golden State Warriors.
