A John Wall for Russell Westbrook Swap
The Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards each have a disgruntled backcourt while having two of the worst point guard contracts in the NBA. That makes the potential for a swap featuring Russell Westbrook and John Wall an intriguing possibility.
It has been a struggle for the Wizards to build a winner around Bradley Beal and that’s reasonable given how much of the salary cap went to a player who has been sidelined. Dedicating that spending for a player like Russell Westbrook would results in a considerable swing for results.
Since the Rockets will likely end up having to trade James Harden, his potential fit with John Wall isn’t too much of a concern. In fact, the idea of allowing Wall to be an ultra high-usage playmaker to restore his trade value could be a potential course of action for Houston.
It’s going to be difficult for the Rockets to trade Russell Westbrook when considering how the NBA Draft played out— even more so for the Wizards in their efforts to move John Wall. This seems like a win-win situation for both teams with Houston receiving additional compensation.
