Cleveland Cavaliers
Another team who could be intrigued by a player with Kyle Kuzma’s skill-set would be the Cavaliers. They are a young basketball team with a lot of room to grow. Kuzma would fit into that kind of a long-term picture.
Looking at the current roster in Cleveland, it is clear that the Cavaliers could use more help in the front-court. Andre Drummond is still in town, but he doesn’t appear likely to be around past the trade deadline. Outside of him, the Cavaliers don’t have too many options.
Tristan Thompson left town to join the Boston Celtics in free agency this offseason. Kevin Love is another player who is expected to be traded at some point in the fairly near future. Larry Nance Jr. is decent, but nothing close to the level of player that Kuzma is.
Should the Cavaliers want to make an impact addition at power forward, Kuzma could be their guy. They have plenty of pieces that would be intriguing for the Lakers. In fact, Los Angeles was rumored to have interest in Kevin Love at one point in time this offseason.
Perhaps the two teams could work on a swap of their two power forwards. Kuzma would fit in long-term with the Cavs and would be allowed to play his game offensively and be a big part of the team’s offense.
