New York Knicks
One of the most obvious teams in need of finding more help would be the Knicks. Over the last few years, they have swung big on free agents and have come up empty. Going after Kyle Kuzma would make a lot of sense.
Currently, the Knicks don’t have a true franchise player. RJ Barrett seems like the closest possible fit to that title. Acquiring Kuzma could give them a guy who can come in and be a true focal point of the offense.
Kuzma had difficulty figuring out how to play his offensive game last season. He couldn’t quite get things going behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. In New York, Kuzma would be given the green light and would be able to shoot without worrying about two superstars.
That seems like an ideal situation for the young forward. James Dolan wants the Knicks to get back into playoff contention soon and making the move to bring Kuzma in could help towards that goal.
Granted, Kuzma may not end up being the type of guy that can be a go-to scorer. No one has seen him play that role before. But, it is worth a shot for a struggling franchise like the Knicks who have been unable to convince a star to join forces with them.
