This Clippers-Pacers trade pairs intriguing star with Paul George, Kawhi Leonard

Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Clippers

On the other side of the trade, Los Angeles needs to find some help for Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. They need to find a third player who can create his own shot and take pressure off of the top two stars. If Victor Oladipo returns to full health, he would be that guy.

Prior to his injury, Oladipo was one of the top up-and-coming stars in the game. He was a lethal offensive threat, a playmaker, and was an above average perimeter defender. That version of him did not return to the court following the injury.

Granted, that was to be expected. A serious injury like that isn’t easy to bounce back from. With more time even in a short offseason, Oladipo could look much more like his old self.

Both Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley are expendable for the Clippers. They would upgrade in a big way with Oladipo if he can return to 85 percent of what he was pre-injury. It’s worth the risk for this price.

If the Clippers want to be the team to beat in Los Angeles, they need more firepower. Oladipo would help them compete harder against LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Lakers. This trade is intriguing and would be well worth it for L.A.

Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Victor Oladipo would be fun to watch and might just be the trio that takes the Clippers to the NBA Finals.
