Brooklyn Nets Receive: Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley, 2022 2nd Round Pick (via ATL)

One of the few things the Brooklyn Nets lack currently is a defensive stopper to fluster an opposing team’s top guard scorer. Patrick Beverley would be able to achieve precisely that in ways that Spencer Dinwiddie does not while being a more reliable perimeter shooter.

It makes it all the more worthwhile for the Nets to be able to land Lou Williams from the Los Angeles Clippers in this particular deal. He is on an expiring contract and could provide his regular impact off the bench behind both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

The Clippers still would benefit from finding a more capable passer for the point guard position. Having two elite wings in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George who aren’t elite facilitators poses limitations for a half-court offense without a lead-guard that can run the show.
