Why the Trade Benefits the Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls are in complete rebuild mode. They drafted Patrick Williams with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft to team up with Coby White. Chicago has been featured in rumors with Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen. This is a deal that would keep their big man in place while trading away LaVine.
This is a deal that would make sense given the players Chicago currently has in the backcourt. They would also be adding another in Dinwiddie, who averaged 20.6 points per game this past season.
When Irving was hurt, Dinwiddie stepped up and proved that he is a starting-caliber player in the league. They would also add a first-round pick for LaVine. Keeping Markkanen in place with the guard play is a smart move for the future.
Chicago is the one team in this deal in need of the most assets because they are the farthest away from the postseason. This is a deal that actually makes sense for all three sides.
