The Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets are two main contenders in the Western Conference. Both teams were competitive last season, but the Nuggets actually made it to the Western Conference Finals. However, trouble could be brewing in Houston with James Harden wanting out.
Harden had reportedly demanded a trade from the Rockets. It was reported that he wants to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets. But, could the Nuggets actually make a strong play to acquire him from Houston?
Last season with the Rockets, Harden was once again arguably the best player in the NBA. He averaged 34.3 points per game, which led the league. In addition to those numbers, Harden chipped in 7.5 assists and 6.6 rebounds to go along with shooting 44.4 percent from the floor and 35.5 percent from the three-point line on 12.4 attempts per game.
At 31 years of age, Harden still has plenty of elite play left in him. He still has two years left on his deal and a third-year on it with a player option worth over $47.3 million.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at a potential trade between the Rockets and Nuggets that would send James Harden to Denver.
