This Hornets-Thunder trade reunites Gordon Hayward with Al Horford

Gordon Hayward and Al Horford are two players who will be on different teams in the upcoming NBA season. Hayward is now with the Charlotte Hornets while Horford was sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder. This is a trade for the two sides to reunite with the Hornets.

Many were confused when Hayward declined his player option with the Boston Celtics worth upwards of $31 million. It all made sense when he signed a four-year, $120 million contract with the Hornets.

The Hornets drafted a LaMelo Ball with the No. 3 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft to team up with Devonte Graham and Terry Rozier. The addition of Hayward gives Charlotte a chance to compete in the upcoming season. Horford’s journey was a bit different. After a failed season in Philadelphia, the 76ers were determined to send Horford and his putrid contract out of town.

The 76ers ended up sending him to Oklahoma City in exchange for Danny Green, who will help the 76ers, who were in desperate need of three-point shooting. The Thunder might not want Horford— making him a potential trade target for a team needing a center upgrade.

In this deal, the Oklahoma City Thunder will get help in the rebuild. Let’s take a look at what it could possibly look like if these two sides made a deal.
