This Spurs-Warriors trade features DeMar DeRozan

The Golden State Warriors were excited to be back in contention in the Western Conference next season with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson back healthy. Unfortunately, they saw Thompson go down for the season already due to a torn Achilles. They have already traded for Kelly Oubre, but could they look to acquire DeMar DeRozan from the San Antonio Spurs as well?

DeRozan has been mentioned in a ton of trade rumors this offseason. From the Los Angeles Lakers to the Atlanta Hawks, a lot of teams have been named potential landing spots for the veteran shooting guard.

Bringing in DeRozan would be a very good move for the Warriors and would help them replace the production lost by Thompson. Granted, he isn’t a good shooter from the three-point line, but he would bring the ability to create his own shot. He would fit nicely alongside Curry in the back-court with Oubre playing small forward.

Last season with the Spurs, DeRozan ended up averaging 22.1 points per game to go along with 5.6 assists and 5.5 rebounds. He shot 53.1 percent from the floor and 25.7 percent from the three-point line.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at an intriguing trade that would send DeMar DeRozan to the Warriors to help them replace Thompson.
