Washington Wizards Receive: Julius Randle, Frank Ntilikina

New York Knicks Receive: John Wall, Troy Brown, Moritz Wagner, 2021 1st Round Pick (Lottery Protected)

Had the New York Knicks used the 2020 NBA Draft to bring in an intriguing point guard prospect, they wouldn’t be listed as an option for either John Wall or Russell Westbrook. Their selection of Obi Toppin with the No. 8 overall pick keeps both scenarios alive.

It’s easier to justify the Knicks pursuing Westbrook in a trade scenario than Wall given the recent health history. However, if New York wants a star player at the point guard position— Wall is certainly an option.

A return from the New York Knicks of Julius Randle and Frank Ntilikina isn’t all that intriguing but it would help cut long-term spending. The best aspect of this deal is that Randle is only guaranteed $4 million for 2021-22.
