Sacramento Kings ‘keen’ on finding trade suitor for Bogdan Bogdanovic

The Sacramento Kings and Milwaukee Bucks sign-and-trade featuring Bogdan Bogdanovic ended up being a deal that never was. However, a trade for ‘Sac Town’ for Bogdanovic is still expected to take place but with whoever he actually decides to sign with.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix, the Kings are ‘keen’ on finding a trade suitor for Bogdanovic— capitalizing on a strong market, particularly from teams who have substantial cap space.

“The Kings are keen on working with a team on a trade for Bogdanovic, per league sources, with Sacramento contractually locked into a De’Aaron Fox-Buddy Hield backcourt and Bogdanovic’s desire to start among the reasons why.”

There will be plenty of NBA teams interested in pursuing Bogdanovic, who will be a restricted free agent. The Kings used the No. 12 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft to select Tyrese Haliburton and remain focused on embracing the De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield backcourt.

With not many NBA teams having a robust amount of salary spending room, it will be fascinating to see the type of contract Bogdanovic ends up commanding. Especially when considering he has substantial expectations for his next deal.

A team in need of adding a secondary playmaker with perimeter shooting ability would be an ideal suitor for Bogdanovic— particularly at the price he will be seeking.

During the 2019-20 NBA season, Bogdan Bogdanovic appeared in 61 games for the Sacramento Kings— producing averages of 15.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. He proved to be a helpful contributor for a team that was clicking prior to the suspension of the season in March.
