Nets, Knicks, Bulls interested in signing Justin Holiday

The Indiana Pacers have been hoping to be able to re-sign Justin Holiday this offseason in free agency. He was a huge part of their rotation last year, but it appears they have a lot of competition. That competition is coming from the Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, and New York Knicks.

According to a report from Ross of Legion Hoops, those three teams are currently showing interest in signing Holiday.

Holiday is one of the more underrated free agents available this offseason. He may not be a household name, but he is the kind of player that every contenders needs to have.

During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Pacers, Holiday ended up averaging 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He shot 42.8 percent from the floor overall and 40.5 percent from the three-point line.

Looking at the Knicks, Nets, and Bulls, it is pretty clear that Brooklyn would be the top choice from a contention perspective. However, the Knicks and Bulls would be able to offer Holiday a much larger role and likely more money.

One of the most valuable archetype’s for a player to be in today’s NBA is a 3-and-D wing. That is exactly what Holiday brings to the court.

There is still a chance that the Pacers could end up re-signing Justin Holiday. But, they have been very focused on trying to get a sign-and-trade deal done with the Boston Celtics for Gordon Hayward. Indiana doesn’t have much cap space to work with this offseason.

Expect to hear more news and rumors about Holiday in the near future. The Knicks, Nets, and Bulls are vying with the Pacers for his services, but other teams could come out with interest as well. Whoever ends up signing Holiday will be very happy that they did.
