The Houston Rockets have been in NBA trade rumors over recent weeks for many reasons. Both Russell Westbrook and James Harden seem to be unhappy with the current situation and are interested in being traded. Both players have a chance to be sent to the New York Knicks.
Harden has listed his preferred destination as the Brooklyn Nets. The two sides have discussed a deal and if the Rockets feel like the return is enough, Harden could be teamed up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. For Westbrook, he has been linked to a few teams, including the New York Knicks.
The Knicks had a productive draft adding Obi Toppin with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. In free agency and trade talks, the team has been linked to players like Westbrook and Gordon Hayward.
New York needs game-changing players to bring some excitement back to the Garden. Westbrook is a player that will do this immediately. He wants to be the leader of a team’s offense once again and would certainly be able to do that with the Knicks.
If a deal could get done between the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks, here is what it might look like.
