The Boston Celtics are one of many teams that have been prevalent in the NBA rumor mill this offseason. They will have some moving parts this offseason in an effort to build around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Could a deal with the Chicago Bulls for Kemba Walker still be an option?
Kemba Walker is one big name that could be on the move. The Celtics tried shopping him for an extra lottery pick to the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Bulls in an effort to acquire Jrue Holiday. That obviously didn’t end up panning out but a trade involving Walker could still be a logical choice.
The Celtics are a win-now team that would benefit from gaining some depth down low. It is clear that Tatum and Brown are the future in Boston and they are the core to build around, especially after Gordon Hayward’s likely departure in free agency.
During the 2019-20 season, Walker had a strong season posting 20.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 56 appearances. However, his impact winded down in the NBA playoffs as he played through lingering knee problems.
This deal with the Chicago Bulls would include Kemba Walker and improve the Boston Celtics on the block. Let’s take a look at how the deal would work out for each side.
