The New York Knicks hold the eighth overall pick in this year’s draft. There is no doubt that this is a selection that they need to nail when looking at their past history. Aside from the NBA Draft, the Knicks need to add some talent in free agency.

The Knicks have been linked to players like Fred VanVleet this offseason in free agency. Grant is another name to keep an eye on. He was a key contributor in Denver during their postseason run in the restart and has shown that he is a leader on the court. This is something that the Knicks need to change the culture.

The Knicks have also been linked in a trade involving Russell Westbrook but talks have been halted recently. No matter which direction the Knicks decide to go, they will need to add a dynamic player on both ends of the floor.

Cap space is not an issue for the Knicks this offseason. With Leon Rose in the front office and Tom Thibodeau on the sideline, this is a team that is set up well for the future but they need to make a lot of things happen. Signing Grant and nailing the eighth overall pick in the draft is a good start.
