Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Pacers

On the Indiana side of things, Kevin Pritchard would have to love the return that he is getting for Turner. Gordon Hayward may not be a franchise player anymore, but he is a legitimate star. Playing him at small forward would give the Pacers a lot of versatility.

Hayward ended up averaging 17.5 points per game last season to go along with 6.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists. He shot 50 percent from the floor overall and 38.3 percent from the three-point line. Those numbers would look great in the Pacers’ lineup.

Domantas Sabonis is the big man the Pacers want to build around. Moving Turner now for a good price would be the right move.

Aaron Nesmith is another solid piece that Indiana would add in this trade. He had a huge season for Vanderbilt last year, averaging 23 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. He also shot 52.2 percent from the three-point line.

The Pacers are not going to find a better deal than this for Turner. Giving up their talented big man would be tough, but Hayward and Nesmith make it much easier to pull the trigger.
