Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Celtics

Let’s be real, this is a perfect trade for Boston. Fans may not love that Aaron Nesmith would be included in the deal, but being able to acquire a talented big man like Myles Turner makes this a no-brainer for the Celtics.

Turner is an elite rim protector and is also a talented offensive player. Nate McMillan never used him properly with the Pacers, but Turner can stretch the floor and is solid as a post-up big. He has crafty moves that can get him buckets.

Doug McDermott is a very underrated piece in this trade as well. He is a sharpshooter and the Celtics could use more perimeter shooting. Last season with Indiana, McDermott ended up shooting 43.5 percent from the three-point line to go along with 10.3 points per game.

Boston would be getting two players who can come in and fit immediately alongside Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kemba Walker.

Moving on from Gordon Hayward is a move that the Celtics obviously still need to make. Danny Ainge would be able to get a great return with this trade.
