Bulls, Timberwolves have discussed a trade for No. 1 pick in NBA Draft

The Minnesota Timberwolves currently hold the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft but that will change if the Chicago Bulls get their way.

According to Hoops Legion Ross, the Bulls and Timberwolves have discussed a trade centered around the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Minnesota is seeking to trade back.

There is plenty of justification behind a potential decision to trade back from the Timberwolves’ perspective. There are legitimate questions surrounding LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards as prospects while they do not have a need for James Wiseman.

The Bulls appear set on executing a trade to move up far enough in the NBA Draft from the No. 4 spot to be able to take Wiseman. The Charlotte Hornets and Golden State Warriors each appear to view Wiseman as their No. 1 prospect on their respective boards— making a trade-up necessary for Chicago to land him.

It will be intriguing to see what the Chicago Bulls become willing to part with in order to gain the necessary position in the 2020 NBA Draft they seek. Lauri Markannen appears off the table, but Coby White, Wendell Carter Jr., and Zach LaVine have all been in the NBA rumor mill.
