The Sacramento Kings have already been busy this offseason. They agreed to a sign-and-trade deal that sent Bogdan Bogdanovic to the Milwaukee Bucks. There are still some feelings that Buddy Hield could be sent away as well, perhaps to the Dallas Mavericks.
Hield signed a four-year, $94 million contract extension with the Kings, but the relationship between the two sides diminished this season. Hield has been wanting a trade out of Sacramento. That could happen in the offseason and the Mavericks have emerged as a preferred destination.
Dallas is coming off of a season where they finished as the seventh seed in the Western Conference. Now that they made the postseason, they will look to add another piece in hopes of moving up in the standings.
Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis are the core to the franchise and another star would take them to that next level. Hield may not be a “star,” but he has the talent to be.
If a deal is made between the two sides, it could look something like this.
