Buddy Hield has been a popular name in trade rumors so far this offseason. After a falling out with the Sacramento Kings last season, it appears that he is pushing for a trade. One team to keep an eye on could be the Denver Nuggets.
According to a report from Ross of Legion Hoops, the Nuggets and Kings have discussed a trade that would send Hield to Denver.
While the Nuggets are a team that has interest, the front-runner for Hield right now seems to be the Dallas Mavericks. They are the preferred destination for the talented shooting guard. However, he will not get to pick where he is traded.
As for Denver, the Nuggets would be a very intriguing landing spot for Hield. They are a piece or two away from making a run to the NBA Finals. Denver made a push to the Western Conference Finals last season, where they came up short against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray have formed a lethal two-man threat. Adding a sharpshooter like Hield to the roster would improve their offense.
Last season with the Kings, Hield ended up averaging 19.2 points per game to go along with 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He shot 42.9 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 39.4 percent of his three-point shots. Those numbers would look good in the Nuggets’ lineup.
Denver has built a talented roster from top to bottom. Outside of Jokic and Murray, they have talented players in Michael Porter Jr., Gary Harris, Will Barton, and Monte Morris. Both Paul Millsap and Jerami Grant are free agents.
Expect to hear more rumors come out in the next few days about Buddy Hield. The NBA trade rumor mill is churning and the Nuggets and Kings are two teams to keep a close eye on.
