5 teams who must make a run at Serge Ibaka in free agency

5. Golden State Warriors

This would be a tough situation to pull off, but it is worth noting that Golden State could go after a veteran big man. Serge Ibaka would have to take a big payout to join the Warriors, considering the fact that they have upwards of $130 million invested in four players — Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins.

At this point in his career, Ibaka could be looking to add some rings to his trophy case. He already has one and could want to have some more. There are few teams better to go to than the Warriors.

Golden State currently has the second pick in the draft and could look to make a trade or draft a big man like James Wiseman. Ibaka would bring that presence the Warriors have been lacking down low.

This is a long shot, but it is an intriguing destination for Ibaka in free agency. It would take some doing by the Warriors, but nothing is impossible as we have seen over time.
