Phoenix Suns pursuing these two high-level players after Chris Paul trade

The Phoenix Suns were the first team around the NBA to make a major trade by acquiring Chris Paul from the Oklahoma City Thunder. The team isn’t done adding talent around Devin Booker and could turn to some intriguing free agents.

According to Hoops Legion Ross, the Suns ‘remain very active behind the scenes’ and are interested in Danilo Gallinari and Montrezl Harrell— both of whom are some of the top free agents available this NBA offseason.

The Suns could have an advantage when it comes to pursuing Danilo Gallinari when considering he thrived playing alongside Chris Paul with the Thunder. He could slot in at the four spot alongside Deandre Ayton in the frontcourt and Mikal Bridges on the wing.

It would be a real benefit for the Suns to add the highly efficient perimeter shooting impact and shot creation ability that Gallinari brings to the table. Being able to go four-out to that extent with Paul and Booker as ball handlers would be a real problem for NBA defenses.

The idea of signing Montrezl Harrell isn’t nearly as attractive for the Suns when evaluating their personnel. Phoenix already has a superior interior oriented big man in Ayton and paying big money for a backup doesn’t make much sense.

The Western Conference will be loaded during the upcoming NBA season but the Phoenix Suns have quickly emerged as a threat. Devin Booker’s patience with the organization has paid off and the team could go further by signing either Danilo Gallinari or Montrezl Harrell.
