Detroit Pistons
The Detroit Pistons are one of the teams that will have the cap space to acquire DeMar DeRozan if they want. Tony Snell and Derrick Rose are on expiring contracts and could be sent away, either in return or in another deal. The Pistons have been mediocre for several years now and have to make some sort of move.
They still have Blake Griffin under contract and he is an elite player when on the floor. DeRozan would give them a nice duo but would it be enough? That is what we would have to wait and see.
DeRozan has a connection to the Pistons because of Dwane Casey on the sideline. If nothing else, there would be a familiar face in Detroit. They might even be able to add another, maybe a Fred VanVleet?
The Pistons just need some excitement and a trade for DeRozan would bring some of that heading into the NBA season. They could have a chance to compete for a low-seed in the Eastern Conference.
