How the Nuggets could trade for James Harden with the Rockets

The Houston Rockets may be heading into a horrible situation where they have to trade James Harden or keep him around even though he is unhappy. Rumors have been swirling that Harden wants out. Could the Denver Nuggets get involved in the trade discussions?

Harden has been most rumored to be a target for the Brooklyn Nets. Another team that has been mentioned a lot has been the Philadelphia 76ers.

However, there is a possibility that the Nuggets could come up with an intriguing trade package that would force the Rockets to consider pulling the trigger.

Gerald Bourguet of FanSided listed the Nuggets as one of the top five blockbuster trades that could send Harden out of Houston. Here is the deal that he mentioned as a possibility.

Rockets send James Harden to the Nuggets for Michael Porter Jr., Gary Harris, Will Barton, and a 2021 First-Round Pick

Would that be enough to get Harden from the Rockets? No one knows, but it is certainly an intriguing trade offer.

Porter Jr. began showing the makings of a potential superstar for the Nuggets this season. He ended up averaging 9.3 points and 4.7 rebounders per game. In the playoffs, he upped those numbers to 11.4 points and 6.7 rebounds, while shooting 38.2 percent from the three-point line.

Add in names like Harris and Barton, who are both quality role players, and a first-round pick and this deal looks enticing.

If the Nuggets were able to acquire James Harden from the Rockets, they would form a lethal big three. Harden would join forces with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. That big three would be one of the most deadly in the entire NBA.

Expect to hear a ton of rumors surrounding James Harden and the Rockets this offseason. Should the Nuggets have interest, they could put together a solid package. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
