5. Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns will have room to sign Fred VanVleet if they feel the need. They have one of the best scorers in the NBA in Devin Booker and have been looking to get an established star with him.
The Suns have Ricky Rubio on the roster but it does not seem like he is the long term answer at the point hard position. It is difficult to see the Suns as a realistic expectation unless Rubio is dealt but let’s think about it for a second.
VanVleet has experience playing with big men and can help them to succeed with his playmaking. Deandre Ayton is coming into his own and could thrive with VanVleet and Booker as the main playmakers around him.
Whether it is VanVleet or another big name like Chris Paul, the Suns need to make some move to get Booker some help this NBA offseason. It would help them go from being a fringe playoff contender in the Western Conference to comfortably having an edge.
