The Chicago Bulls made changes to the leadership of the organization and it’s quite possible major roster reconfiguration could occur in the future. One player that will command interest is Zach LaVine. In fact, NBA teams already are calling to trade for him— including the Dallas Mavericks.
According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, the Mavericks are among the teams around the NBA that have already inquired with the Chicago Bulls about the availability of Zach LaVine.

The Mavericks had no shortage of success on offense this season— posting the best single-season offensive rating in NBA history. With a need to improve defensively, LaVine would certainly not be a player that would help in that department.

Perhaps the Mavericks intend to go with an approach that goes ‘all-in’ on having so much offensive firepower that opposing NBA squads can’t keep up. It’s unclear if that’s the best approach when considering, at some point, a team is going to need to get stops to succeed in the playoffs.
It’s unclear what the Mavericks would need to send the Bulls in a trade package to get a deal done for LaVine. They did part with future 1st round selections to get the Kristaps Porzingis trade done, so they don’t have a ton of assets left. Would a deal featuring Tim Hardaway Jr. and the No. 18 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft be enough?
The Dallas Mavericks will have plenty of options when it comes to building around Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. The team already knows what they have in the intriguing duo. Now, it seems they are trying to make Zach LaVine the next member of their core via a trade with the Chicago Bulls.
