Bucks, 76ers interested in trading for Spurs’ Patty Mills

The San Antonio Spurs have quietly been one of the busiest teams in trade talks with the NBA offseason underway. It appears that they would like to make some moves and guard Patty Mills could be among those moves. Both the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers are interested in trading for the guard.

That report comes from Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, who stated that the Bucks and 76ers are in talks with the Spurs about a trade for Mills.

Mills is not the kind of player that would move the needle much for a contender. However, he can shoot the ball and would provide quality guard depth. He has been a nice piece for years in San Antonio.

During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Spurs, Mills ended up averaging 11.6 points per game to go along with 1.8 assists and 1.6 rebounds. He shot 43.1 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 38.2 percent of his three-point attempts.

Both the Bucks and 76ers could use more perimeter shooting. Mills would be able to provide that to whoever ends up acquiring him.

Another reason for the interest would be the fact that Mills is not going to break the bank for a team to acquire. No one knows exactly what the Spurs would want in return, but a second-round pick could be in play. If that is the price tag, both the 76ers and Bucks should pull the trigger immediately.

So far this offseason, rumors have been running rampant. This could very well end up being an incredibly busy offseason from a trade perspective.

Expect to hear more news and rumors surrounding the Spurs, Bucks, and 76ers as the offseason progresses. Don’t be surprised if Patty Mills ends up being moved at some point, with these two teams being potential destinations.
