3. Extreme Bargain
It was mentioned that Myles Turner has not been a huge offensive producer for the Pacers. He has averaged 12.6 points over the last two years, but he is shooting 36% from three-point range and is a strong mid-range contributor. Defensively, Turner is elite. Looking at his contract, he is a bargain player.
Turner has three years left on his contract and is owed $17.5 million per year. Yes, that is a big number, but not for the player that you are getting. That contract is much smaller than that of a max player.
Turner is an All-Star caliber player and could be making much more. Turner would be able to contribute on both sides of the floor and do it night in and night out.
The Pelicans will have to pay some players soon, including Ingram. Having Turner on a team friendly deal would help moving forward when it is time to spend some more money.
