Why the Pelicans should push for a Myles Turner trade

One surprise name on the trading block this offseason could be Myles Turner. The Indiana Pacers could be looking for deals including their premiere big man. If he is truly on the block, the New Orleans Pelicans could be a potential destination.

Turner is quickly turning into a force on the offensive end. He is improving his range while being a dominant rim protector, averaging 2.4 blocks per game over the last two years. In addition, he is a solid all-around rebounder.

Turner has not been asked to be a huge part of the Pacers’ offense. He has been a complementary piece, which is what he could be in New Orleans.

The Pelicans are in need of a big man. They traded Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers for some pieces along the perimeter. Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball are now the core of New Orleans along with Zion Williamson, who is able to play inside or out. Turner would give them that true inside presence.

If the Pelicans look for a deal for Myles Turner, it would make perfect sense. Here are three reasons why the Pelicans should pursue a trade.
