The Denver Nuggets, led by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, are one of the top up-and-coming teams in the NBA. They looked great in the playoffs, but could be missing one piece to compete for an NBA Finals appearance. Could that piece be Oklahoma City Thunder superstar point guard Chris Paul?
Rumors have come out that the Nuggets will look to make a big splash this offseason. A back-court of Murray and Paul should fit and CP3 could be the piece that helps take the Nuggets to another level.
Paul was not expected to lead the Thunder to the playoffs last season. Not only did he lead them to the playoffs, he helped push the Houston Rockets to a seven-game series. If the Nuggets were to acquire him, he would help take them to a higher level of contention as well.
During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Thunder, Paul ended up averaging 17.6 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.0 rebounds per game. He shot 48.9 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 36.5 percent of his three-point shots.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at a potential trade between the Nuggets and Thunder that would send Chris Paul to Denver to form a big three with Jokic and Murray.
