New Orleans Pelicans Set To Move Jrue Holiday?

The New Orleans Pelicans defied the odds by coming away with the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft— putting them in position to select Zion Williamson. Now, the focus of the organization is centered around him, as well as Brandon Ingram.

It has helped the Pelicans to have Jrue Holiday in their backcourt but at 30-years-old, he doesn’t fit a timeline centered around Ingram and Williamson. The best course of action appears to be involving Holiday in a trade in order to further New Orleans’ rebuilding efforts.

According to Charlotte Observer’s Rick Bonnell, the Pelicans are seeking a third team in order to execute a trade involving Holiday. That means they must be in serious discussions with a team if they feel the need to find a potential third team to help make it work.

Last offseason, there simply weren’t reports about Holiday being available in trade discussions. The tone has shifted drastically for the Pelicans. It seems far more likely for New Orleans to pull something off involving Holiday now than it has ever been.

The expectation appears to be for Jrue Holiday to get traded during the NBA offseason. It just remains to be seen which specific team will end up being the ones to get something done. Regardless, the most logical of options appears to be a team in legitimate title contention.
