Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: Aaron Gordon, 2020 1st Round Pick (No. 15)

Orlando Magic Receive: James Johnson, 2020 1st Round Pick (No. 1)

The lack of development Aaron Gordon has experienced in his shot creation and playmaking since entering the NBA has been a genuine disappointment to track. He’s not going to be an All-Star talent being relied upon as an initiator and Jonathan Isaac has surpassed him in impact.

There is plenty of value to be had in Gordon’s ability to guard multiple positions and provide additional speed to a unit. The Minnesota Timberwolves need that type of an impact at the four spot to maximize the unit alongside Karl-Anthony Towns.

The stretch-five attributes that Towns bring to the table would help cover up some of Gordon’s limitations as a shooter within the half-court. Minnesota would need to believe in their ability to refine some of Gordon’s perimeter abilities for the best-case scenario to pan out.
