Why the Trade Benefits the Miami Heat

The Miami Heat want to add another superstar to pair with Jimmy Butler. Miami wants to get back to their championship ways and feel like that is on the horizon after an appearance in the 2020 NBA Finals.

It all depends on which way they want to go. They have been linked to Giannis Antetokounmpo but Russell Westbrook would also be a good fit. Making a play for Westbrook this NBA offseason maximizes the Heat’s ability to contend immediately without having to wait a year.

The Heat would give up promising young players to the Houston Rockets like Kendrick Nunn and Duncan Robinson but would be able to retain Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro. Westbrook and Butler would be an elite duo with plenty of surrounding talent around them.

Miami would immediately be ready to contend in the Eastern Conference again next season. This is a huge deal that would land them the superstar that they are after.
