The Kawhi Leonard-Paul George experiment was a complete failure in year one. The Los Angeles Clippers were supposed to be title contenders but failed to reach the Western Conference Finals. This could cause them to make another move, perhaps with a team like the New Orleans Pelicans for Jrue Holiday.
Los Angeles gave up half a decade of draft capital to land George. In this trade, they could find a way to land another veteran.
The New Orleans Pelicans have talked to teams about the situation surrounding Holiday. He is an All-Star caliber point guard and that is something the Clippers need.
As of now, Patrick Beverley and Landry Shamet make up the depth at point guard for the Clippers. Beverly is a nice defensive player, but is best used off the bench. He is not a scoring guard and Holiday is. This trade would build a stronger backcourt in Los Angeles as they look to compete with their crosstown rival.
The Pelicans are looking for a trade partner. If the Clippers are a fit, this is what a deal might look like.
