Boston Celtics Receive: Domantas Sabonis

Indiana Pacers Receive: Marcus Smart, Romeo Langford, No. 14 pick, No. 26 pick, 2022 1st round pick

The Boston Celtics hold three 1st round picks entering the 2020 NBA Draft, and it’s a safe bet to suggest they won’t enter the 2020-21 season carrying three rookies on the active roster.

This gives Boston some assets to use in trades if they opt to package multiple picks for a player and in this instance, Domantas Sabonis. In this hypothetical, the Celtics part with two 1st round picks this year, as well as a first in 2022 while keeping Myles Turner to man the middle.

Marcus Smart is the biggest piece heading to the Indiana Pacers, as his presence would provide a variety of options. This is particularly helpful during a team when Victor Oladipo’s future with the organization is uncertain.
