Knicks Receive: Chris Paul

Thunder Receive: Julius Randle, No. 8 pick, 2021 1st Round Pick (via DAL), 2022 1st Round Pick (Top-5 Protected)

One of the most talked about landing spots for Paul this offseason has been the Knicks. They have been searching for a star for years, but have swung and missed and quite a few different players. Trading for Paul would give them the superstar franchise player they need.

Unfortunately for the Knicks, Paul won’t come cheap and he certainly isn’t a long-term option. New York would be making this move with the goal of adding another star next to Paul.

Rumors have circulated that Carmelo Anthony could join Chris Paul in New York. Once again, the Knicks would not be getting a star with that move. Anthony had a good season with the Portland Trail Blazers, but he doesn’t move the needle much anymore.

Giving up Julius Randle is an easy decision for the Knicks and the Thunder would be a good fit for him. The No. 8 overall pick and two more first-round selections might be a bit too steep for an aging point guard.

However, James Dolan has never made great basketball decisions. He wants stars and the Knicks could very well pull the trigger on this deal if it presents itself.
