5 intriguing landing spots for Onyeka Okongwu in 2020 NBA Draft

Last year at this time, many considered James Wiseman as being the top big man in the 2020 NBA Draft class. A strong season from former USC standout Onyeka Okongwu has changed that perception for some experts.

The USC product averaged 16.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game as a freshman. He added 2.7 blocks per contest. At 6’9, Okongwu has great athleticism and versatility at the center position. Both attributes are necessary in today’s NBA.

Big men need to be able to rebound effectively, run the floor, and have a mid-range game while being aggressive on the defensive end.

Okongwu checks all the boxes needed from a productive center in this league. He can get drafted anywhere from the top-five all the way down near No. 15. There will be teams interested in moving up for the former Trojan and some that hope they can land him at their original spot.

On draft night, these five teams should be looking into Onyeka Okongwu. They are extremely intriguing landing spots in the 2020 NBA Draft for the big man.
