5 NBA Draft prospects the Celtics should strongly consider trading up for

The Boston Celtics have been championship contenders for years now. They were recently knocked out in the Eastern Conference Finals by the Miami Heat in the bubble. Now, the focus will shift to the 2020 NBA Draft.

For the fifth time in seven years, the Celtics will hold multiple 1st round picks in the 2020 NBA Draft. This is the third time in that stretch that they have three. Danny Ainge has built Boston using draft capital and this year, he could use it to trade up and get a player they need.

Something to watch is the Celtics are reportedly looking to trade up and are willing to package their three 1st round picks in order to help facilitate a potential deal, per Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.

It is unlikely that the Celtics make all three picks where they currently are. They have plenty of room to move up for a big man or a point guard if they feel the need. This is a top-heavy draft class and the Celtics are not in that top just yet.

If they decide to make a move up in the 2020 NBA Draft, here are five prospects that the Celtics could be eyeing. They are different positions all over the court that could help the team contend further next season.
